When I got home from work and checked out Lily's incisions on her magnet sites, they looked much better. One side is still just a little more red than the other side. We're going to have her ENT check it out tomorrow just to be on the safe side. He'll probably think I'm crazy, but I just want to make sure she is healing like she should.
The steri-strips finally came all the way off today. We took some pictures of the incisions.
Now that the swelling is completely down, you can really see the magnets under her skin. This is a picture of what is implanted under her skin on both sides of her head.
Can you see the outline of the magnet in these pictures?
Only 5 more days until activation!
WOW! Only 5! Still counting down with you... :)
ReplyDeleteWow, it is hard to believe that the incision is so small. Allison's 1st surgery was awful, it is a good thing I was not easily troubled and had a strong stomach, it was nasty looking. I was expecting the same thing for her 2nd one and was surprised how small it was. They have come along way.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear about her activation. This is when the fun starts!! :-)
I think different scars just heal at different rates and in different ways. You could always try rubbing some Vitamin E oil on them...it helped my shoulder scar heal up nicely...
ReplyDeleteI think her incisions look good! One of Aiden's really developed a lot of bumby scar tissue, but it ended up going away too. It's amazing how babies heal so quickly. When I saw Aiden's magnents it really shocked me. I didn't the internal piece was that big and would stick out so much. I have to say though, that they've really sunk in pretty well in the last 6 months ... well, that, and he has more hair to hide them!
ReplyDeleteFIVE MORE DAYS!!!! YIPPEEE!!!
